Meet our Senior Management Team.

 Gareth Fleming - Acting Chief Executive
Gareth Fleming

MBA; Post Grad Diploma Banking; BA Economics

Gareth has nearly 20 years' experience in retail banking and joined The Co-operative Bank early in 2007.

As General Manager Marketing & Products, Gareth led The Co-operative Bank through its bank registration and re-branding.

Gareth is a strong believer in the importance of teamwork and see's building relationships with The Co-operatives Bank's members, employees and communities as one of the most important aspects of his role.

Gareth is excited to be the Acting Chief Executive and believes The Co-operative Bank gives New Zealanders a real choice in the way they want to bank. Gareth is proud to be leading the Bank during a time where more New Zealanders are discovering the benefits and value of cooperative banking.

Outside of work, Gareth is a keen sportsman. But these, he says, this revolves a lot around coaching his kids' cricket and squash teams. Gareth is also chairperson of the Adventure School Board of Trustees.

 Mark Wilcox - Chief Financial Officer
Mark Wilcox

BCA, CA, LTCL

Mark was first appointed Manager of Organisational Risk in 2004, then was promoted to the post of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in 2008.

Mark's strengths lie in business relationship management and financial leadership. He has many years experience in the retail banking industry, including the role of Financial Controller during the merger of Westpac and Trust Bank in 1996-97.

As CFO, Mark's role contributes to the design and implementation of the company’s strategy and encompasses all aspects of financial leadership including reporting, planning, forecasting and taxation compliance.

Mark's outside interests are eclectic and include music (he has a Trinity College diploma in pipe organ performance), mountain running (he has completed the 60km Kepler Challenge among other events) and more recently home renovation.

 David Murray - General Manager - Customer Banking
David Murray

MBS, PGDipBank (Dist), BCom (Finance & Economics), SA Fin.

David leads the Customer Banking group which is responsible for all sales, distribution, property and administration at The Co-operative Bank.

Since 1994 David has worked in a number of branches and in Marketing & Products before being appointed to his present role in 2007.

Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with family, reading, and making music.



 Doug Widdowson – General Manager – Risk and Company Secretary
Doug Widdowson

M Comm; B Acc; CA

Doug was first appointed to help us obtain bank registration. Shortly after, in 2011, he then took up the position of General Manager Risk and Company Secretary.

Doug’s background has always been in banking – firstly as an auditor, then in operational roles in treasury, and finally moving to regulatory roles with the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. He has co-authored articles on understanding credit ratings and financial literacy.

Doug aims for excellence and to make a difference in everything that he does. He thrives on change and enjoys working with a wide range of people.

Outside of work Doug enjoys water colour painting and gardening.

 Annette Natta - General Manager - Information Technology
Annette Natta

Annette leads the Information Technology team, which looks after all of our banking and customer computer systems. She has worked in IT at The Co-operative Bank for many years and has experienced many great innovations over that time.

Annette has the pleasure of working with a fantastic team made up of technical experts who have a real passion to deliver relevant solutions to meet our members needs. We at The Co-operative Bank are very proud of our real-time systems that enable our members to transact anytime, from anywhere.

Outside of work Annette is a bit of a foody. She loves to cook and partake in a bit of shopping.

 Kerry De La Haye - General Manager - People & Culture
Kerry De La Haye

BA (Psych & Soc), Post-Grad Cert in Industrial Relations

Kerry was appointed in 2004 with a wide range of experience across strategic, advisory and operational levels as a Human Resources professional in values-based organisations.

She has a genuine interest in what makes people tick and particularly likes that the "people" element of business decisions is always a key consideration at The Co-operative Bank.

Kerry (and her team) work collaboratively across the company to influence and deliver positive change within The Co-operative Bank, by ensuring good people practices internally and designing and implementing customised Human Resource Management solutions that support The Co-operative Bank's co-operative work culture.

Married with one daughter and two very indulged cats, Kerry has a passion for rock-climbing and also enjoys art, design, music and wood-working.

 Miranda Hogan - Acting General Manager - Marketing & Products

BCS (Journalism)

Miranda leads the Marketing & Product Management team, which looks after all external and internal communications, deposit, transactional and lending product management functions, as well as insurance services.

Miranda has worked in Marketing and Communications for over 12 years and has been with The Co-operative Bank since 2007. She enjoys working for The Co-operative Bank, as our members best interests are truly our number one priority. We exist solely for their benefit. Members have a voice, as they get to vote for Directors and provide feedback on how the bank operates.

Outside of work, Miranda enjoys travelling, yoga, running, going to the gym and renovating her house.
