Comprehensive cover
Life Plus has a range of great benefits:
- Major illness cover: these days there's a good chance you'll survive a major medical trauma, but it could wipe you out financially. Trauma Cover is an extra option that provides a lump sum payment to help you out financially, if you suffer from a major illness.
- Renewable yearly until the age of 99: Life Plus is available to customers of The Co-operative Bank who hold a Current or Smile On Call Account, are aged from 16 to 98 and are a New Zealand resident.
- Worldwide cover: you're covered against death from any cause - except death as a result of self-inflicted illness or injury - 24-hours a day, anywhere in the world.
- You choose the level of cover: you can get Life Plus cover from $10,000 to $3m.
- Early payouts if you become seriously ill: if you're diagnosed with a terminal illness you may qualify for an early payout to help get your affairs organised.
Competitive premiums
- Our premiums are lower than average: we encourage you to go out and compare our prices. Premiums will be debited directly from your Current or Smile On Call Account fortnightly.
- Non-smoker discounts we have lower premiums for non-smokers. You'll also get a premium discount if you choose to be insured for $200,000 or more.
Stress-free claims
Health worries and tragedies are hard enough to get through without struggling through the claims process. If we get all the relevant information, and the premiums are up-to-date, then a claim can be paid quickly. The sum insured will be paid either to the policy owner or to your estate. To make a claim, just call your local branch.
