About Good Choices

Developed by New Zealanders, for New Zealanders, Good Choices provides a platform to encourage conscientious consumers to make better buying decisions for the physical, economical and environmental health of their community.

As we become more aware of the impact our mass consumerism has on our personal and natural resources, we begin to look for ways to reduce our carbon footprint and improve health. Choosing organic over processed, longer lasting over throw away, considering food miles and moral welfare are just some of the practices we can adopt to achieve this.

Check out Good Choices Happenings for details on competitions and events, while the Good Choices Library provides classification information, definitions, associations, articles and press releases.

The Good Choices Directory lists products and services that have been selected due to the organic, sustainable, ethical, charitable or local practices and/or principles they follow.

Good Choices NZ Ltd is a privately owned business based in Tauranga, New Zealand. It's origins stemmed from the successful Organic Direct website which sought to provide similar services to a solely organic market. Throughout the time Organic Direct operated, it became apparent that there was demand to provide a wider cross-section of options across similar markets - similar in that those who make conscientious decisions for their families are often concerned about their impacts on other criteria such as sustainability, ethics and the treatment of people and animals, and support for their communities. Essentially, we needed to find a way to allow the mainstream consumer a way of being less mainstream by providing one place for all the alternatives. In addition, this platform would allow us to help educate and inform to encourage others to become more conscientious in their decision making also.
