EcoMatters is passionate about creating communities where aroha and connection with the local environment is restored. We reckon it's only our love for this place that's going to create the sort of future we all quietly yearn for.
EcoMatters aim is to be a tohu (focal point) to connect people and the environment and to nurture a sense of guardianship (kaitiakitanga) for our beautiful planet.
Our Visitor’s Centre provides information and displays on solar hot water and energy efficiency, green building and renovating, climate change, organic gardens and permaculture, waste and composting.
The Centre also offers a range of reference materials and runs a wide range of workshops with a focus on providing practical environmental advice and information.
